Rwanda Blue Bourbon has an interesting flavor combining full body, complex cocoa and spice notes with medium acidity.

Tasting information
· High elevation, traditional arabica Bourbon trees, rich soil and good rainfall make Rwanda perfect for growing high-quality coffee.
· “Blue” in the name refers to the blue-green color of the unroasted coffee beans as well as the sparkling blue water found in the coffee-washing channels. “Bourbon” refers to the Bourbon variety of the Arabica species.
· The sale of this coffee to Starbucks and our customers allows Rwandan farmers to improve their homes, afford medical care and provide education to their children.
What makes this coffee unique?
· Rwanda’s coffee is grown by smallholders – farmers with about 175 trees per farm.
· With its high elevation, traditional arabica Bourbon trees, rich soil and good rainfall, Rwanda is ideal for growing high-quality coffee.
· Starbucks first visited Rwanda in 2004 to sample coffees from several washing stations. In 2006 we sold our first coffee from Rwanda.
· Specialty coffee accounts for 7 percent of Rwanda’s total coffee exports.

THE NEW LOOK
To celebrate Black Apon Exclusives™ coffees, Starbucks wanted to create a package that would be as special as the coffee it contains. We commissioned abstract artist Lane Twitchell to design artwork for the box that would reflect the attention farmers give to each of these hand-cut artwork featured on the front of the box conveys the human story behind these coffees and leaves a lasting impression.
Rwanda Blue Bourbon is now available exclusively at selected Starbucks Coffee stores in Malaysia for limited time only.
