Connecting Communities in Malaysia.
Commemorating 15 amazing years in Malaysia, we celebrate it with Malaysians whom have grown accustomed with Starbucks as part of their daily lives by giving back to our local origins. Deriving from our ethos in community connection, we bring forth Starbucks Connecting Communities Malaysia project.
Starbucks first destination is Kampung Lubuk Jaya, a rural village located in the outskirts of Kuala Selangor by purchasing a sizeable amount of banana directly from the village which will be used in several types of banana-based edible products at our stores, such as muffins, biscotti, Danish pastries and pies. Proceeds from every banana-based product is used to build a Community Computer Center for the children of the village.
This year, we are in partnership with Craft CT 01 Enterprise located in Felda Chini Timur 01 in Pahang, the East Coast of Malaysia by producing Mengkuang based products. Craft CT 01 was established by 4 forerunners of the Federal Land Development Authority (FELDA) with the aspiration to start a local Mengkuang craft based business.
